Our Catholic Faith through the teachings of Jesus Christ is central to all that we do at St Christopher’s Primary School.

The staff and students demonstrate an active commitment to living out our Gospel values and we take time to pray together as a school, in our classes and before all meetings.

Our program is based on the Religious Education Curriculum Framework which has the following integrated components:

  • Three strands of learning:
    • Knowledge and Understanding

    • Reasoning and Responding

    • Personal and Communal Engagement

  • Five content areas:
    • Jesus and Scripture

    • Church and Community

    • God, Religion and Life

    • Prayer, Liturgy and Sacrament

    • Morality and Justice.

  • Achievement standards.

Our Sacramental program is an important part of Religious Education at St Christopher’s Primary School. Although the Sacraments occur in particular year levels, we celebrate each occasion as a whole school and incorporate this into our P-6 curriculum.

Each year, the children in Year Six present to the Bishop for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated through Reconciliation in Year Three and children in Year Four receive their First Eucharist. Parents are involved in the preparation of Sacraments by attending family workshops with their children.

At the end of each term we invite our families to come up to the school to share in a Religious Education themed family gathering. Some of the themes of these days include: Lent, Advent, Grandparents, Sacraments, Prayer, Godly Play and more.

We welcome you to St Christopher’s Primary School…a faith and learning community.
